The seven-passenger Explorer is the SUV that kicked off America’s craze for the segment, and it still is a leading contender to this day. The 2018 Ford Explorer SUV has received an extensive exterior makeover, along with an interior update to match. While they were at it, the Ford engineering and design teams tossed in a host of new features to improve your daily driving experience.https://www.instagram.com/p/BWaU1GyhvSN/embed/?cr=1&v=8&wp=614&rd=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.schickerfordunion.com&rp=%2Fblog%2F2017%2Fdecember%2F15%2Fthe-2018-ford-explorer-gets-a-fresh-update-continues-to-lead-the-way.htm#%7B%22ci%22%3A0%2C%22os%22%3A2302.800000011921%7D

The first thing you’ll notice about the new Explorer is the fresh front end that presents a distinct grille and LED signature lighting. Open the door and you’ll encounter an interior that boasts the design touches and details that denote quality craftsmanship, from how easily accessible the controls are to the materials used.

The SYNC® 3 voice-activated technology allows you to access maps, contacts, music and more without using your hands, so you can stay in touch — and in control of your SUV. The 4.2-inch touchscreen houses all of your necessary controls for Bluetooth®, apps and more.

You have a choice of three engine options with the Explorer, starting with a standard 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers 290 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque. You can also opt for the 2.3-liter EcoBoost® engine that makes 280 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, or choose the top-of-the-line 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine that marries turbocharging and direct injection to generate a best-in-class 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque.
